Well, she had been in hospital since May and her dad told my husband and he in turn told me, but I never knew why. So when she called she immediately asked if I would do her a "silly-off-the-wall favor". Of course, I say what is it? She said she has cancer and... I had to stop her and say I am so sorry, what can I do? That is when she said she had completed her 1st chemo and her already short hair is falling out. She tried shaving it off and could not get the back. Her dad said he couldn't use the razor so there she sat half shaved. She wanted me to do it. I agreed and my heart literally broke when she came to the door. God's sweet Grace and His Holy Presence were what kept me standing and smiling and carrying on a conversation throughout the process. I listened as she told about her diagnosis, her surgery, treatment and having to leave work and apply for assistance. Her only daughter lives in Germany. Please remember her in prayer.
Oh, she brought over a pack of those cheap razors and had used them on the top with a few cuts. I just could not use those. I would never have finished so I proceeded to use the scissors to cut as close to the scalp as possible when I remember ordering my husband a new electric razor set. It worked out great! After she left I was cleaning up her hair and that tore at my heart. How brave she is! I will never forget this as long as I live. I wanted to help but this was really tough.
